Adobe Casino 97
Rehab Manager

Adobe Casino 97 is a collection of two game applets, a real-time score server and an administrative applet written entirely in Java. It simulates the working of a casino where users play against each other in an effort to increase their winnings. Users started out with equals amounts in their respective accounts and placed bets from one of the two games - Java BlackJack and Java Slotmachine.

  • The BlackJack and SlotMachine applets were modeled after the casino games.
  • The server kept a score of the amount won or lost by each user in real-time and was also used to authenticate the user at login time.
  • The administrative applet was used to add or delete users and assign starting amounts.

In a typical session, more than 50 users were logged on simultaneously and played against each other. This application was custom built for Adobe for use in a seminar held at Monterey, CA in 1997.
